METHOD 1 – SBR AS BONDING COAT (BONDING SLURRY)
STEP 1 – SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove dust, loose particles, laitance, oil, paint, and any weak material.
STEP 2 – DAMPEN THE SURFACE
Pre-wet the surface with clean water. The surface should be damp (SSD condition) with no standing water.
STEP 3 – PREPARE BONDING SLURRY
Prepare a brushable slurry by mixing SBR Latex + Cement until a smooth paste is formed.
STEP 4 – APPLY BONDING SLURRY
Apply the slurry evenly using a brush on the prepared surface.
STEP 5 – APPLY MORTAR / PLASTER (WET-ON-WET)
Apply mortar/plaster/concrete while the bonding coat is still wet and tacky to ensure maximum bond strength.
METHOD 2 – SBR AS ADMIXTURE IN MORTAR / PLASTER
STEP 1 – SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust, loose particles, oil, and contaminants.
STEP 2 – PREPARE THE MIX
Dry mix cement and sand thoroughly.
STEP 3 – PREPARE LIQUID MIX
Mix SBR Latex with clean water as per recommended dosage.
STEP 4 – MIX MORTAR
Add the SBR-water solution gradually into the dry mix and mix until a uniform, lump-free mortar is obtained.
STEP 5 – APPLICATION
Apply the mortar/plaster as required using standard tools and methods.
STEP 6 – CURING
Cure properly using clean water or curing compound to achieve maximum strength and durability.
